Presenting the developments in Myanmar since the 1 February coup as a freelance foreign correspondent for the Netherlands’ public broadcaster VPRO.
“In Myanmar, resistance to the military coup has been going on for more than a month now. This week was very bloody. Dozens of protesters were shot dead, mostly by bullets to the head. Nonetheless, especially the young generation has the feeling that they cannot stop protesting. It’s now or never, to prevent a return to the dictatorial Myanmar of their parents. We discuss this with correspondent Anrike Visser in Yangon and journalist and expert on Myanmar Minka Nijhuis.”
